This is a deal that stumps me from Phillys perspective. Philly gives up what could be a #1 elite defencemen and two cap dumps for an aging blueliner a season or two away from retirement and two slightly better than average players. It's not game breaking but it's not a deal I would make haha

I'd give a serious go on a Seabrook swap if I'd known Provonov would have been available ... *slaps forehead* .. I'll be drinking out of my Stanley Cup anyways to think back on this one.... Ha!! =)
Boston loading up on prospects!

When you go to Bostons 90 man roster and sort by Potential it looks scary!

From my perspective: I have been looking to unload Vinny's and RJ's heavy contracts for some time now, and Provorov would be in 2nd or 3rd defensive pair this season. I get back a 1st line d-man that I hopefully will be able to squeeze a couple of good seasons out of, and also some depth on both D and O.
Obviously the loss of Provorov will hurt long-term, but this trade will hopefully pave the way for acquiring some additional top talent to cover for that loss.

Wow at this rate Boston will soon have no original players on their roster.
