Hearing chatter suggesting #iBruins are close to moving blue chip prospect and a pick for a d-man. Not sure who is involved but iBruins shortlist allegedly includes: DeKeyser, Edler, Vlasic, Ceci, Daley. Also hearing Beans would like to bring back #Chara but I don't think this is that deal. Curious what this means for the future of 2015 1st Round Pick Jakub Zboril.

Personnel changes are coming swiftly in Montreal. GM Matt Gough explicitly unhappy with his teams collapse out of the gate. Montreal currently sits last place in the Atlantic with 11 pts.

Rumour out of the latest iOilers practice is LW Alex Killorn has been getting increased playing time on the right side of the Laughton/Schenn line. Interesting......could mean more ice time for him.

The struggling Mikael Granlund - following the iBruins' flight from Pittsburgh to Denver - was spotted in the early hours of Tuesday morning enjoying the Denver nightlife - perhaps a bit too much for a game day.
Granlund, appearing to enjoy some tasty beverages with some scantily dressed friends, posted to his Instagram account from Sputnik bar shortly after 11pm and then was caught by TMZ's sports division leaving a place called "Ladies En Confidente" just hours before the scheduled iBruins team meeting (the morning skate was scrapped because of games on back to back days). Granlund did not respond to any questions as he left the nightclub.

Mikael Granlund, after iBruins practice this morning, on whether public reports of his partying in Denver have become a distraction to the team: "3 points in 3 games since then, must be doing something good."

A visibly upset Pavel Zacha on the departure of good friend Mikael Granlund: "Spoke with him after it happened, ya. Miky and I are obviously very close. Locker beside each other and we hang out a lot off the ice too. So this is hard to see happen. Seemed coach and him got off on the wrong foot and he didn't get much of a real chance here so I am sure he is happy a little bit but I will miss him for sure."

As the Chicago Blackhawks are eliminated by the more superior team in the San Jose Sharks the Chicago organization has undergone a green light in they're bid to rebuild its team from the ground up and ice a product the fans will slowly adjust too down the road.
In other news coach Joel Quennville will not be brought back next season and his contract will run out as of July 1st. The iHawks are rumored to be interested in Darryl Sutter of the LA Kings shall it's brass decide to cut ties with him this coming offseason.

Jason Nightingale, Coordinator of Analytic-Related Hockey Evaluation at Buffalo, was reportedly seen clearing his desk at First Niagara Center this morning. Rumor has it that Sabres management has deemed the experiment on operating a tandem of lower-paid goalies vs. a clear cut number one an abject failure, so Nightingale has carried the can due to the analysis of his department being the catalyst behind this flawed policy.
Exactly what this means in terms of future goalie recruitment at Buffalo remains unclear for now...

Jon Cooper to be the new Head Coach of the Los Angeles Kings. Deal as of yet unconfirmed, but it's believed to be a long contract, around $4 million a year. Kings were in a bidding war with Carolina and the Islanders. Marcus Markiss refused to comment.
On rumors that the iKings have approached former Captain Dustin Brown for a cheap, multi-year deal, General Manager Markiss gave a quick shrug.

Comtois sent back to Victoriaville, Marcantuoni called up in his place. #3 overall pick went 1-2-3 in 6 NHL games. Not bad, but the iKings would prefer not to burn a year on his ELC. Marcantuoni had 3 goals in 5 games with the Ontario Reign, with 7 blocked shots and a faceoff percentage just above 50% (which is far better than Comtois or Shore have managed, both eeking out wins in just over 30% of their faceoffs).

Hearing that the Los Angeles Kings are finalizing a deal that will swap two franchise players from east to west. One can only assume that the iKings player involved is star centerman and team captain Anze Kopitar. The 30 year old forward is 18-18-36 in 37 games played. Is this the right move for a team perennially hovering about .500? The only thing that is currently clear is Marcus Markiss's self-destructive intention to make the playoffs this year.

A suspicious early morning meeting between team captain Drew Doughty, Doughty's agent Don Meehan and Chicago Blackhawks GM Rob Ranek just concluded. Sources say the three individuals looked to be in excellent spirits and seen shaking hands afterwards. A solid unknown source also believes this "meeting" was part of a request from the camp of Doughty's in looking to remain part of the teams rebuilding phase
Drew Doughty's contract will need to be renewed after July 1st and rumors have been rampant on what plans the team has with Drew Doughty all season long.

My sources tell me that members of the Calgary Flames' scouting staff have been seen following several NHL teams and their AHL affiliates this week. Among the teams the Flames seem to be interested in are the Buffalo Sabres, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Montreal Canadiens and St. Louis Blues. And rumours say there could be others.
When asked, Flames GM Joe MacDonald scoffed at speculation that a possible deal for Sean Monahan or Johnny Gaudreau, or both, was close, calling the scouting activity "normal trade deadline preparations".
But several sources indicate the MacDonald has received several "interesting offers" and the club, while still not committed to making a move that would rock both the iNHL community and the Flames' fan base, is actively exploring their options.

The Dallas Stars are set to be very active around the trade deadline according to multiple sources. GM Jacob Zentner is always active around the deadline but this may be bigger than last years as he is one of few GMs buying at the deadline. It is expected that he has inquired on any big name forward available at the deadline and 20 year old Michael McLeod is said to be dangled for a second line center. More is to come and expect a lot of movement in this upcoming week.

There's been a lot of discussion surrounding Jordan Staal's future with the rebuilding New Jersey Devils, but it's looking more and more like the star defensive-minded center will not be moved on this surprisingly quiet deadline day. Per general manager Jon Bold, a deal was very close to being made during the week, but the Devils' potential trade partner finally balked after not being able to accomodate Staal's contract. The next best offer just "wasn't good enough for a center of Jordan's caliber", said the polarizing manager who went on to complain about a sad year in the iNHL, where too many of his fellow managers "were not serious enough about their cup aspirations to make any daring moves."

More than one source has told me that the iBruins' latest skid and dim playoff hopes have GM Beans furious with his veteran players.
"I have no doubt he's going to do something outrageous and unadvisable in the not too distant future," said one of the sources. "I'm just surprised he's refrained from throwing his players under the bus publically. Maybe he learned from the Scheifele debacle?"

According to multiple sources, the Dallas Stars are not in any trade negotiations. This is huge news for a team that since GM Jacob Zentner has taken over, have made close to 100 trades. It is said that he is pleased with his current roster and will only make minor changes.

According to my sources, Dallas Stars GM Jacob Zentner has been working the phones hard since the end of the regular season. He is desperately trying to acquire a 2nd line center with top end talent to bump Sam Steel to 3rd line center. "It isn't that Sam isnt good enough, it is that we would like to insulate him and give him the best chance to succeed". It is said he has many options but will need to pay heftily to get top end talent. Stay tuned, something big will come out of Dallas.

iBruins GM on Peter Tiivola: "Who? We know nothing about him or where he comes from. Our scouts are vetting him thoroughly. Everyone keeps talking about how great this guy is but - come on, folks - there is just no way to know how effective he'll be if he comes over but I can tell you this: he will absolutely be an unmitigated disaster for whomever signs him. Period."

There's been much speculation lately about the Sedins' future in the iNHL. Word around the streets is Henrik would be leaning towards retirement, whereas brother Daniel is not quite done with Hockey yet. Will we be seeing only one of the famous redhaired twins next season?

Sources from within the Calgary Flames' organization have confirmed that contract negotiations between the Calgary Flames and recently acquired veteran defenseman Zach Bogosian have stalled, and the blueliner will likely head to free agency when it opens on July 2nd.
Bogosian, who was part of a deal last week with the Buffalo Sabres, that saw Calvin de Haan head to upstate New York, was rumoured to be seeking a six-year contract for north of $6.25 million a season, while the Flames were offering a three or four year term for slightly less money.
With Bogosian at least seemingly out of the picture, this opens up an opportunity for youngsters like Casey Fitzgerald (another piece in the Bogosian/de Haan deal), Cam Dineen and Cale Fleury. In fact, our sources indicate that it was the Flames' depth on the back-end that caused the club to hold firm and not waiver from it's three and four year offers.
How this will sit with the Flames faithful remains to be seen. The rabid Calgary fan base is now faced with the reality of the team trading arguably it's best player in de Haan for essentially the unproven Fitzgerald and prospect forward Matej Toman, the 26th pick in last Saturday's iNHL entry draft.
No doubt the pressure will be on both GM MacDonald and the young defenseman when training camp opens in September.
For TSN, I'm Bob McKenzie.

Finnish phenom Peter Tiivola was spotted in San Jose to hear the Sharks free agent presentation, word is the pitch went well however no decision has been made at this time. Tiivola is very much in control of his own future as the amount of teams lined up to secure his services is huge.
