Hi gents,
I just wanted to take a moment of your time to discuss the topic of player recruitment.
I'm sure we will all agree that a full Gameworld is to the benefit of us all. More GM's equates to more trades, more news, more immersion and just more enjoyment in the iNHL as a whole. I'm glad to say that of late we have been able to find new GM's for the Flames and Blue Jackets, but there are still open slots and we want to make sure that the trend in numbers continues upward rather than down.
In order to facilitate this, I've recently been posting some adverts online to try and get more interest in the League. So far I've posted on the following sites:
reddit.com (hockey subreddit and Franchise Hockey Manger subreddit)
gmgames.org
operationsports.com
thehockeyforum.co.uk
thebreakaway.net (although post is yet to be approved by mods)
It would be great if any of you could suggest other popular hockey forums that I may have overlooked or been unaware of.
By the same token, if any of you are part of existing sim leagues or fantasy leagues, or have a buddy who might be open to the possibility of joining a great league like ours, then get out there and spread the word. At the end of the day, the worst that can happen is they say “no thanks”, which leaves you in exactly the same position you were in before asking the question.
Hopefully they won't say no though I genuinely believe our gameworld has a lot to recommend it, not least the whatsapp group and the general activity levels on the forum, which have helped to engender a great community spirit and keep things fresh and exciting.
But with that said, I want to say one other thing: it's ok for people not to be on whatsapp, it's ok for them not to be on the forum as much as others. We all have lives to lead and the reality is that not everyone can put in the same amount of time as others. If someone wants to leave line setup and tactics to the AI, then log on once a week to check their trades and respond to people, then that's cool with me. We need to be a broad church that appeals to all types of players, from the casual to the hardcore, so that we can keep the gameworld full and a great place to be.
Posted below will be a copy of the advert that I've put together, any thoughts and suggestions would be welcomed.
