Who would be your pick for the Hart trophy today?
Keep in mind this is not necessarily the player that is having the best season but the player that is proving to be the most valuable to his team thus far.

Camallari is having one hell of a season and still has plenty more to go. The Devils added a bunch of guys but Camallari is really thriving and playing exceptionally well.

My top three would have been Staal, Forsberg and Doughty. Had to give it to Doughty. Leading the iNHL in assists, 7th in points (5pts back) and has played in less games than 4 of the top 6 guys in points ahead of him. He's the quarter back of both the power play as well as the penalty kill. Leads in takeaways, 4th in shot blocks. T-1st among defense in GWG with 4. I will say you can't go wrong with anyone i've listed. Curious as to the who voted for "other". Care to make it known who you'd give the award to mid-way through the season if it's not someone i have listed?

Beans already named Patrice Bergeron his Hart nominee in an article he did not so long ago. He'd be my guess as to who voted other. And I'd tend to agree with him that he's been an even more important piece to my team than Cammalleri.

I clearly overlooked Patrice Bergeron. I guess i missed him do to the fact that when i skipped through each team his point totals didn't really impress me but when you consider he's missed a bunch of games he would be one of the top guys points wise when you consider he's getting about 1.2 points a game. He's a big part of NJ's success for sure. I would still have a couple guys over him though. Well for now anyway.

I just looked at his article. He actually had Doughty winning it but had Bergeron as an honorable mention. I like all of his picks except for GM of the year. I'd still have you (NJ gm) as the front runner and myself and as someone also in the mix but i wouldn't have Brentdog (Buf GM) in the mix, not with that record. I would have had Edmonton's GM in the there but the turnover has been so great there that i couldn't consider it. JasonG in Washington would be the 3rd Gm i'd go with.

I voted for Doughty, but I'll put a plug in for my young star and future MVP, Johnny Gaudreau who is almost singlehandedly keeping the Flames in the playoff race. He's not getting any attention, but has a chance to lead the league in scoring on a team that doesn't have the depth of the teams some of these other guys play for.

If he can get them into the playoffs then i would consider him one of the front runners for sure.

I voted Doughty so the mysterious "Other" is still unknown.

That mysterious "other" is me... Edmonton iOilers are sitting 3rd overall in the entire league .. not 30th .. 3rd.. for one reason only and ahead of most of the players teams mentioned... McJesus. All those players have complimentary guys feeding them the puck and play on great teams... I'm not taking away any success from any individual but its hard pressed not to mention McJesus in this category thus far in the season.
Also.. look for Keith to pull ahead of Doughty soon.. bank on it!

I voted Schwartz...for obvious reasons. It was supposed to be Tarasenko leading the pack for the Blues in points. I definitely did not expect Schwartz to not only lead the team, but also the league in points.
As to McD...hes definitely a lock for Calder, but I'd say that Steve Mason is the early frontrunner for the iOilers MVP. Mason is not only having a career year, but he is doing so while facing a ton of shots.

I wouldn't have me in there either But just you watch, in two seasons time it'll be a different story I tells ya! As for my vote, I went for Staal... putting up great numbers in a formerly declining franchise which has lacked leadership off the ice until the recent arrival of their new GM

For what it's worth you've done a great job in Buffalo. One of the best GM's this season for sure but i can't see you winning GM of the year unless you get in the playoffs haha. If you can get in or get close and you might have my vote. I like a lot of the moves you've made so far. You just a couple years away from being a great team. Also Staal was one of my top choices for the Hart this year so far as well. Well i guess they call it the Gretzky in the iNHL haha.

Also i love how Stamkos isn't getting any love. Ironically not even from me. He's having a great year as well though.
