As all of you know we received a message stating that we should vote for the iNHL awards. While i think that's great and fun i think there is a flaw in the voting and that is being able to vote for your own players/management. I don't think we should be able to vote members within our own organization. I think by having it so we can't vote for ourselves it cuts out all the bias and will led to the right players winning the awards. Not to mention there will be a less chance of a tie because if everyone is voting for their own players we are going to see many ties in votes. In the end i think it's more fair this way and i'm trying to think of a counter argument to it but i just can't haha.

I see your point Justin, this "opportunistic" behaviour might be a problem in a league with more participants and/or less of a community atmosphere.
As for this league I trust the honour among our GMs to vote for the player they actually feel has done the best job, rather than one of their own players. Also considering for example the rookie trophy which IMO is quite obvious to whom it should be awarded; I don't think the GM who has this player on his team should be forced to vote for someone else just because that player is on his team.

I can only speak for myself but I didn't vote for a single Sabres players in any of the awards as I couldn't justify doing so.
Perhaps the simplest way to eliminate any temptation would be to include a question for GM's to nominate an MVP from their own team? Makes the awards a little bit long-winded, but personally I wouldn't mind seeing who people think has been their best player and why.

Im a believer in letting anyone vote for whomever including theyre own players BUT as Kris mentioned... if you do so Id hope some GMs provide an explanation.
Myself I didn't vote for any of my own players and if I did you guys know me enough id write a great wall of text along with it lol.
Edit: Bjorn summed it up better than I could there.
