Risers
Logan Stanley - Upgraded to 4.0 potential
One of the most improved players in the CHL. Possesses dimensional size at 6'6" and 216 pounds. Seems to have been given the green light to play more aggressively on offense and shown he is more than just a stay-at-home defenseman; good skater for a big man. Defensively he has the range, size and strength to impact at iNHL level.
Cameron Morrison - Upgraded to 3.5 potential
Skilled Rookie currently leading Youngstown Phantoms in scoring with 32 goals and 70 points in 57 games. Really stands out on the ice; big framed, powerful skater with good acceleration. Possesses an iNHL level shot.
Clayton Keller - Upgraded to 4.5 potential
A small but highly dynamic player, Keller is posting offense at a breathtaking pace, leading his team in USHL scoring with 89 points in just 58 games. He skates well with the ability to rocket down the ice and add a quick lateral burst to get through a hole when required. Compared strongly by some to Mitch Marner, who went high in last years draft.
Riley Tufte - Upgraded to 4.0 potential
At 6'5" and 216 lbs, Tufte is a big man with some intriguing skills and a lot of potential upside. 32 goals and 70 points in 58 games for Fargo Force attest to his ability to put the puck in the net. Has a long way to go before he could be considered the complete product on the ice but would be an intriguing project for a franchise after a goal-scoring Power Forward. Probably a 2nd Round pick come draft day but could go higher under the right circumstances.
Pierre-Luc Dubois - Upgraded to 4.5 potential
After a great season in the Q, Dubois has proven himself to be a very versatile forward. He is also an all position player with his natural position on the wings but can also play center.
Tyson Jost - Kid with big potential but needs a lot of time to make it, upgraded to 4.5 star potential
Zach Sawchenko - A very solid netminder playing in the WHL, upgraded to 4.0 potential
Dante Fabbro - Upgraded to 4.5 potential due to his offensive abilities
Michael McLeod - Upgraded to 4.5 stars potential
Alexander Nylander - Upgraded to 4.5 star potential
Carter Hart - By far the best goalie in the class, has been upgraded to 4.5 star potential
Fallers
Matthew Tkachuk - Downgraded to 4.5 potential
It has come to light that Tkachuk is benefiting pretty heavily from playing with Marner and Dvorak. Has not separated himself from the pack as much so his value has fallen.
Sean Day - Downgraded to 3.5 potential
Granted priority selection to enter the 2013 OHL draft and once projected as a Top 10 pick, poor hockey sense and a lack of compete level has hurt Day’s ranking. Reports coming out of Mississagua alleging a poor attitude to training certainly haven't helped his cause. At 6'3" and 229 pounds Day has all the tools to be an iNHL-level defenseman, as evidenced by his 55 points in 69 OHL games, but question marks remain as to whether he has the toolbox to put it all together.
Sam Steel - Downgraded to 3.5 potential
Continues to show strong offense but at the expense of defensive responsibility. His decision making will need to be better if he is to make the step up to the big leagues; seems to be playing without any pace to his game at present. Remains a potential iNHL level playmaker with his excellent passing and vision but needs to shoot the puck more rather than relying on others to do it for him.
Tyler Benson - Downgraded to 4.0 potential
Again a player who was once expected to go in the Top 10 continues to drift in the rankings, in no small part due to an injury record that has stunted his development. Surprisingly cut from the Canadian WJC team despite impressive offensive numbers for the Vancouver Giants (64 points in 72 games) this season. Plenty of scouts continue to look at Benson, but selecting him high in the draft may now be more of a gamble than it would previously have been considered.
Carl Grundström - Downgraded to 4.0 potential
Jacob Cederholm - Downgraded to 4.0 potential
