Just wondering what everyones thoughts are on the Injury Frequency in game. Should we leave it as is? Make it lower or higher?

I'm ok with normal injuries. Is there a way to affect severity or length?
We have full teams and minors so having to make some moves tests team depth, but no one wants to get their team and lose major players to months long injuries. At least not too many of them.

Increase it a little unless there is a way to increase severity. The majority of injuries that I see in game are day to day.

In a lot of my tests I've noticed there can be season ending and even career ending injuries on the vanilla setting. As long as everyone is okay with these than that is fine.

Every pre-season, I see half an all-star team go down with 4-week injuries. Maybe its just randomness but I definitely wouldn't increase injury severity based on my experience.

I like where it's at right now too.

Looks like we will keep it the same. I will however be changing the Injury reserve counter from 14 to 7. This will basically just allow you to remove a player from the injury reserve in 7 days rather than 14.

I figure I'd share the results of my sim ahead to check on how the game handles injuries. There seems to be roughly 1-2 injuries every time there is at least 10 or more games played in a day. A lot of 4 week injuries too. We may want to limit this a bit but that is just my opinion. It could create a lot of work for me with to many players injured and having to sub guys in.

I'll second this.. I've been experimenting with different settings myself and I am finding there is an influx of 4 weeks injuries with the normal settings. On the OOTP FHM2 forums people are also voicing they're concerns over the "default" settings allowing too many long-term injuries and also career ending as well. I'm up for whatever you fellas would feel is appropriate but I do think lowering a bit won't hurt the game as much as the injuries seem to be at the moment.
I like the injuries because it tests the teams depth but some of them are getting overboard.. like I mentioned, I'm game for whatever we can figure out =)

As close to real-life as possible - if it means lowering the injury frequency, I am all for it.

I think I will remove practice injuries entirely or severely limit them. That seems to be what really adds onto the injuries. We have 1.25 injuries per game and then an extra 1.25 injuries per off days. Maybe 1.05 injuries per game and 0.5 injuries per practice.

yes and yes .. Ill vote for that. doesn't cripple the injuries happening but sure as heck reduces them to let us breath! =)
Edit:
Its adjustable as well throughout the season or on July 1st were the game opens us expansion / player roles / settings so we can always adjust as we progress

Everyone else is welcome to chime in with their own setting and findings while playing as well.

From my experience with OOTP leagues, game players tend to under estimate how many injuries there are. You read about how "there are too many injuries", yet when studies are done, it's not really that bad.
Having said that, this is supposed to be fun, so reducing injuries a little isn't a bad thing. I like the idea of limiting practice injuries.

I'd like to try 1.0 injuries per game and 0.5 injuries per practice. Any reason why you want to try 1.05 and not 1.00? Haha
