Despite being a clear rules violation in the contract signed by Mikko Rantanan the former 10th overall selection in last seasons NHL entry draft the Finnish top prospect for the Colorado Avalanche took to the media this morning to discuss openly his disgust and anger with the organization.
It started to leak sometime in the last 24 hours to the media that there could a potential major shake up in the organization witch includes shipping Mikko out in a potential trade. Mikko wasted little time in letting the media know just how he felt about the current situation. "You decide to take a chance on me with the 10th overall pick in last years draft, then I get a small injury that will keep me sidelined for 2 weeks or less and you decide that is it and you are done with me?" "at this point I am hoping and actually have said a prayer or two that i do get moved." Mikko continued saying.. "This team will live to rue the day that they considered crossing me. The next time i see them from wherever i end up they will feel the full force of what they are letting go."
When the reported asked if he had stopped to consider that they may only be looking at moving him in some kind of potential deal for a top line franchise center or d-man or goalie he snorted a little and said "I AM a franchise forward.. obviously they saw that in me a few months ago taking me so high in the draft. This is going to bite them big time when and if i am dealt." When prodded a bit further to expand on what this might mean if no deal is actually consummated he just laughed a little and said "yeah, well see about that.. "
obviously this situation in Denver continues to get more toxic by the minuet. Lets hope that either a deal is worked out or Crappa is able to have a 1 on 1 with Mikko and try to smooth things over. Whatever the case something needs to change and it needs to happen sooner rather then later.
This is CNN Reporter Chris Nilly-Willy and that was your up to the minuet update on the delicate situation going on with your iAvalanche.
Untill next time..
