So with the 2015-16 NHL All-Star game participants announced today, I decided I would take a look around the iNHL and pick my All-Star teams based on the same roster format and rules the NHL adopted this year. As an outline, there will be 11 players on each team (6 F, 3 D, 2 G) and each team must have at least one representative. I feel like I left so many deserving players out of this because of the rules placed on the creation of the rosters.
This is going to be far from perfect, and lord knows I probably overlooked a few players completely, albeit not intentionally. Many times I had a player from a franchise on the roster only to remove them because I got to the next team and their only viable option was at a position that was already full. Needless to say the Metropolitan Division game me the biggest headache, as I am sure I wrote and rewrote so many different names before settling on the 11 players that I did. Madness I tell you! But it was fun, and I am looking forward to the feedback and discussion on snubs and whatnot that may come from this. Enjoy!
ATLANTIC DIVISION
F - Michael Grabner, Boston Bruins
F - Patrick Kane, Buffalo Sabres
F - Henrik Zetterberg, Detroit Red Wings
F - Max Pacioretty, Montreal Canadiens
F - Nazem Kadri, Toronto Maple Leafs
F - Steven Stamkos, Tampa Bay Lightning
D - Brian Campbell, Florida Panthers
D - Erik Karlsson, Ottawa Senators
D - Victor Hedman, Tampa Bay Lightning
G - Petr Mrazek, Detroit Red Wings
G - Ben Bishop, Tampa Bay Lightning
