This solidifies my C position for a few years and the Wings should be much more competitive moving forward. Thanks Michael!

Detroit sends:
2020 2nd Round Pick (Boston)
Anaheim sends:
Frederik Andersen (G)
Helps solidify my goaltending for the short term on an affordable contract. This will also allow me to develop Spencer Knight and hopefully he can take over about the time Andersen's contract is up.
Thanks for smooth negotiations Chris!

Dallas sends:

Detroit is stepping up the rebuild a little and wants to be competitive sooner rather than later, and Lindholm will help that process immensely. Thanks to Jake for the long, yet effective negotiations.

Detroit sends:
(LD/RD) Brandon Gormley (C) Martin Necas (RD) Hayden Davis
Dalls sends:
(C/RW) Blade Jenkins
The Wings decide to re-acquire a former 1st round pick in Blade Jenkins to shore up the future 1C position within the organization. Gormley played very well for us, while Davis is a good D prospect. Necas also has some potential but is pissed off about playing in the iAHL.
Thanks for easy negotiations, oh trade master JZentner!

Red Wings confirm. While it is very difficult trading away a franchise player, especially a goalie that was drafted and developed by the iWings organization, we realize a rebuild is in order. With that being said, we wish him all the success and will be rooting for the Flames to win a Cup this year (unless Columbus wins one, good for you Rick Nash).
Thanks for the easy negotiations and flexibility Joe.

Detroit sends:
RW/LW Tomas Tatar LD/RD Nikita Zadorov
Calgary sends:
RD/LD Michael Del Zotto C Patrick Harper NY Rangers 2020 1st Round Draft Pick Calgary Flames 2021 3rd Round Draft Pick
Detroit will miss Tatar and suspects he will perform much better in a winning environment with a talented center. We almost decided to hold on to Zadorov as he is still young and is not a bad player, and we wish him well in Calgary as well.

Detroit confirms. Callahan was unhappy with being a 4th line player despite the obvious fact that he is useless in any other role. Aksanen is a depth d-man whom might find some playing time on Broadway next year when other players are mysteriously injured during a "training" session in Peru.

Detroit, MI:
Hearing some speculation that the coaches seat is getting rather hot in Detroit these days. Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill has been given a long leash in the past, and although the team is in an official rebuild mode, Wings GM M.W. Smith is said to be losing patience with the on-ice results. Coach Blashill was recently given a contract extension, but Wings management wants to see better results, more of an effort by the players on the ice, and an increase in player development. To this point, word is that none of these things have been happening and the team as a whole has been wildly inconsistent. It's probably too early for a change behind the bench in Detroit, but stay tuned...especially if results don't change.

Detroit, Michigan: Detroit Red Wings owner Mike Ilitch passes away at 87Just received word that legendary Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Tigers, and Little Caesars Pizza owner Mike Ilitch has passed away. When asked for comment, current iRed Wings GM M.W. Smith had this to say: No word yet if this will change anything within the Red Wings, Tigers, and Ilitch holdings managerial structure. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available. LeBrun out.

Detroit trades:
(RW/LW/C) Zach Nastasiuk
NY Islanders trades:
(LD/RD) Keith Yandle 2021 3rd Round Pick (NYI) 2020 5th Round Pick (NYI)
This is a salary dump for the Isles and the Wings season is nearly over already so why not just take on crappy players salaries at this point?

Rumors out of the Motor City were fast and furious prior to the ultimate signing of Finnish phenom in Winnipeg. Fans were left disappointed and wondering about the direction of the Red Wings franchise after GM M.W. Smith missed out on the talented center. One anonymous fan even went so far as to make unfavorable comparisons to a former GM, "I can't see what's changed since somebody else was running things. We're still missing out on big free agents and preaching patience. Sounds a lot like more Hollandisms after striking out on Zach Parise and Ryan Suter a while back. Yeah, another player goes to some frozen tundra instead of signing with an Original Six team. It's kinda depressing, actually."
Ouch. Smith has expressed confidence in the current roster on more than one occasion, and has stated that nothing has changed regarding a rebuild. We shall see.
McKenzie out.
